FOLEY + CORINNA EXPANDS FROM THE LOWER EAST SIDE OF
NEW YORK TO LOS ANGELES
BRAND PLANS FURTHER RETAIL EXPANSION AND UNITES
LINES WITH OFFICIAL NAME CHANGE
Los Angeles, CA (December 11, 2007)-Already a favorite amongst celebrities, Foley + Corinna has created a new home even closer to its favored red carpets of Hollywood. After 8 years of playing hard to get from the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Foley + Corinna is finally opening a West Coast outpost in Hollywood’s backyard.
Situated on Melrose Avenue, across the street from the renowned Fred Segal and nooked between Madison and Jonathon Adler, Foley + Corinna is in great retail company.
The exterior is painted a deep, rich indigo blue with a gilded Foley + Corinna logo that spans the storefront. Upon entering the main wall features fourteen-foot tall silver leafed angels – reminiscent of the Greek muses from the Acropolis; the angels were custom-designed by Jill Malek of Luscious Print and Wallpaper Designs.
Architects from Hut Sachs Studio designed the jewel box-like space to allow even boyfriends to relax and get comfortable. Under the lights of a grand wooden chandelier, the space truly sparkles. Furnishings include a green conscious chaise from Cisco Home, and beautiful vintage chairs and poufs. A hand-carved 7-foot mirror bought in the Paris flea market provides reflection. The counter is from a great old general store and has been covered with a 10-foot slab of marble. Antique showcases in all sizes are scattered around the shop. Filled with vintage and new jewelry, little drawings and paintings, hand mirrors, designer vintage scarves, they are each a jewel box unto themselves.
With the opening of Foley + Corinna on Melrose Avenue, regular patrons of their original Lower East Side boutique such as Gwen Steffani, Scarlett Johansen and the Simpson girls will be joined by West Coast fashionistas. This gorgeous, luxe environment makes a home for the beautiful, sexy clothes and bags that are Foley + Corinna.
In addition, Foley + Corinna is slated to open another store in Manhattan’s Upper East Side in April 2008.
The designers recently officially united their collaborative business. After more than a decade of forging a friendship and creating original vintage-inspired clothing and handbags that have come to define the downtown fashion scene, design duo Dana Foley and Anna Corinna have unified their brands back to Foley + Corinna, including both clothing and handbags.
“When we opened our first store on the Lower East Side of New York in 1999, it was called Foley + Corinna and represented everything that we are as a brand: a beautiful mix of new and vintage clothing and accessories that merchandised together harmoniously,“ state Dana and Anna, owners of Foley + Corinna.
“As our wholesale business grew and the clothing and handbags were distributed as separate entities, the lines evolved into Foley clothing and Anna Corinna handbags, although we continued to work in tandem and share our inspiration. As we look forward to opening more of our own stores in coming months, we‘ve realized the importance of re-establishing the unity of the brand: Foley + Corinna. Going forward all merchandise will be under the same label, be it clothing, handbags or any other category in which we hope to expand!”
